We like our lamb tender, mild, and grown on grass, and that's what we want to share with our customers. We sell only our own Montana State Department of Agriculture certified organic lambs, and they grow up on grass and clover pastures, with hay in the winter. We keep grass at the heart of our lamb production because grass-fed meat tastes fantastic; because sheep have evolved to thrive on grass; because well-managed grassland is ecologically sensible (and beautiful) in Montana; and because increasing evidence suggests that grass-fed meat is healthier for humans to eat than grain-fed feedlot meat.

• Mild-flavored, meaty carcasses from our lambs provide 28-32 pounds of frozen meat. Our lambs are medium-frame crossbred Border Leicester, Corriedale and other genetics.
  
• Our lambs are certified organic by the Montana State Department of Agriculture. We do not feed, inject or implant antibiotics or hormones in our lambs, ewes or rams. Such supplements are not a necessary routine in a healthy grassland system.
  
• The lambs grow up on ewe's milk and grass. The late season lambs eat hay which we put up on our ranch and on neighbors' land. The ewes are also grass-fed (alfalfa/grass/clover hay in the winter), with the exception of whole barley supplement near lambing time when lactation puts demands on productive ewes.
  
• Our lambs are 5-10 months old at butcher time. We usually start butchering lambs in August and we take lambs to the butcher about once a month until our supply runs out in the spring.
  
• The lambs are processed at a USDA-inspected plant in Columbus, Montana and shipped next-day air via Federal Express, or delivered locally if possible. Our Packing Plant uses modern cryovac packaging equipment with heavy duty plastic wrap.
  
• You can purchase a whole lamb, a half lamb, or selected cuts. All prices listed below are for the actual weight of cut and wrapped, frozen lamb. We encourage you to buy a whole or half lamb because it provides you with a ready-made variety pack. A whole lamb consists of 2 legs (one bone-in and one boned), 2 racks, 12 chops (4 to a package), 1 package of kabob meat, 1 shoulder roast, 4 packages of ground lamb, 4 shanks, 2 packages of ribs, and, if requested, ~1.5 lbs. of liver, heart, and kidneys.

All prices below are for cut and cryovaced (vacuum wrapped and sealed), frozen lamb.

Whole lamb: (28-32 lbs. of meat) $9.30/pound

Half lamb: (14-16 lbs. of meat) $10.30/pound

Selected Cuts:

Shipping costs are added to the prices listed above. Shipping rates vary greatly depending on the size and destination of FedEx packages, so we will determine shipping costs at the time of your order. In general , per pound shipping cost is greater for small packages.

Note: We have, on occasion, provided dressed, uncut whole lamb carcasses for roasting at special events. Let us know if you are interested in such an event and we can discuss pricing, scheduling, and shipping of a whole lamb. Please give us at least a months advance notice for this kind of order. We need to make special arrangements with our butcher and schedule this kind of product.
