Thirteen Mile rugs are made from blends of our coarsest wool fibers, along with occasional mixtures of other suitable rug wools (Karakul, Scottish Blackface, Lincoln) from other Montana sheep producers, and even bison fiber in selected rugs. We mix the colors (natural and plant-dyed) right on the carder, yielding unique and gradual color shifts. The rugs are crocheted and then felted, so they're tough and durable; they're meant to be used as rugs! Please contact becky@lambandwool.com if you'd like to discuss custom rugs.
